Leading Lady

'Leading Lady' is one of those sunflowers that stands out among the crowd, the crowd being a local organic apple orchard, some of the apples can be seen in the background. The owner of Sunset Orchard kindly invited me to paint in the orchard for the second year in a row and, for an artist, this is a thrill to be surrounded by neatly organized rows of fruit, a labour of love tended by Irene and Ludwig.
