More than just animals, both of these creatures are dearly loved and domesticated.  The rooster I spotted when we were in Cuba on a cultural exchange, our visit in this case the King Ranch, where our guide lived and raised his Cubalaya Rooster, said to be one of the largest breeds in the world.  Feathers are a first for me and I really enjoyed painting them.

'Coque Tails' 20 X 16 X 1/2" acrylic on canvas, framed.

Our dear neighbours, Bobbie and Paddy, have cats.  Each has its own personality and this one seems fixated on something in the foreground, very close to you!  Get ready for a pounce.  Painting the softest of fur coats with its multiple hues and values was a joyous challenge. Painted from a photograph by Bobbie Fischer.

'Concentration' 8 X 16" acrylic on canvas board, framed.
